Our Story
“Our Story” is currently my story, but hopefully that won’t be for long. My name is Rudder and
this is where Pond Hopper comes from. Growing up in rural Alabama, I never imagined I would
have the opportunity to play some of the best courses in the world. My introduction into the golf
business began working on a maintenance crew in Central Virginia during college. This
transitioned into being on caddie teams, as well as inside and outside staff at some of the best
courses in the world (Myopia Hunt Club, Naples National Golf Club, and Kingsbarns Golf Links)
during my academic pursuits.
Our Vision
It is the vision of Pond Hopper Golf to normalize regular golf travel to England. What does that
mean? It means being able to go several times a year (if you want) to various locations without
breaking the bank. We firmly believe that the idea of an England golf trip being a ‘bucket list’, once in a
lifetime opportunity, is a fallacy. You do not need to save up for years to experience golf in England. Surprisingly, golf in England is more accessible and many times less expensive than the
United States and other locales.
