“Our Story” is currently my story, but hopefully that won’t be for long. My name is Rudder and
this is where Pond Hopper comes from. Growing up in rural Alabama, I never imagined I would
have the opportunity to play some of the best courses in the world. My introduction into the golf
business began working on a maintenance crew in Central Virginia during college. This
transitioned into being on caddie teams, as well as inside and outside staff at some of the best
courses in the world (Myopia Hunt Club, Naples National Golf Club, and Kingsbarns Golf Links)
during my academic pursuits.

Through these opportunities, I was able to see and develop my own internal perspective on
what it means to be able to play some of these epic courses. Whilst in London pursuing my
PhD, I joined Walton Heath Golf Club and fully immersed myself in United Kingdom golf. Since
then, I go back regularly to play with the many great friends I have made through the years. The
desire to share these experiences with others was the genesis of Pond Hopper Golf.
